    I love the BSF Bible studies, but I would really love a hard cover book even if it’s spiral. It is so hard to sit in a chair and try to balance my book and discuss on my book is so large and fluffy and I am a short woman. I wish we had tables to sit out but in my group we don’t, so it is very hard to manage. Just a suggestion.

    Julia, I COMPLETELY understand your finding it difficult to manage the bulky study manual we deal with in our studies. Your statement led me to unlock feelings I have kept unsaid, unwritten, for years. And by the way, by virtue of BSF having a Blog, we have been granted permission to share our thoughts and our concerns. Thus, you and I write. But if my words in this space offend or cause anyone any bad feeling - - and I can see how that my words might - - I do sincerely apologize. I do intend to continue my journey with BSF. My concrete suggestions for your concerns come at the end of my Comment, although you may sort of discern some of them, or one of them, within the following paragraphs. The large size of our lesson books, in my humble opinion, is directly related to unnecessary repetition and over-statement in our Notes. In my humblest opinion, correct and thoughtful writing - - IN REFERENCE TO THE SENTENCES AND PHRASES IN THE NOTES SECTION- - is, in many instances, just plain absent. The Notes should be crystal clear and full of fresh writing that renews our spirits after our having already covered the very same material via the multi-faceted questions introducing us to that very material in the first place. I would suggest that the writers of our study manual reduce the “Notes” to no more than three pages , or fewer, in length. This might be possible through careful and thoughtful writing and re-writing. (It would be IMPOSSIBLE through AVOIDING the hard work of producing multiple drafts, this avoiding usually coming from overworked contributors in the first place who labor under publishers’ deadlines; from contributors who do not work at producing good writing; of from contributors who dictate their contributions- - dictation being the fastest and the deadiest manner in which to “publish”: nothing worth reading, muchless studying, comes from words dictated due to waiting until the last minute to do so. It would be one thing if the Notes revealed new, unmentioned things about the scripture passage being “introduced” in the Questions section. I do not see that in the Notes at all. Truth be told, I have come to dread the reading of the Notes. But I want to do my BSF study in the manner in which I am expected to do that work. I want to complete all of my questions before I attend the class to which those questions pertain. I want to strive to attend all of the BSF meetings , which is made easy and fun to do in my case: My BSF is local and small and meets in a church sanctuary for lecture; it meets in very nice classrooms ( WITH tables) in a connected educational building, for the small group discussions. Everything about my particular BSF experience is extremely fulfilling and encouraging. My fellow BSF participants are responsible for that. My Bible, copyrighted in 1946 (I think) is the very heart of the entire experience. The holding of hands, the connectedness of coming together to open our Bibles in prayerful study from our individual study during the week prior, is the blood and the love running through it all, held together, put together. Bible Study Fellowship calls us to imitate Christ. Bible Study Fellowship encourages us to apply ourselves faithfully to Bible study. Bible Study Fellowship encourages us to examine our lives through sometimes tough questions, which is good! As for me, I am respectfully and prayerfully asking those responsible for the contents of our Lessons, to strive for a more perfect presentation thereof. Writers and publishers: You are already dealing with something sacred. Reach for perfection in the published voice you have chosen to use in describing the work you would have us do, through our using this study manual you have chosen to write, to advertise, and to publish. You , as writers and publishers, are in a powerful position. Use your power for good. To Julia, Thank you again, my friend, for coming forth with your Comment. Your thoughts are very good ones.

    I give thanks to the Lord for allowing me to study *The Exile and Return* with BSF, and for blessing me so richly through it. It definitely encourages me to remain steadfast—not only in times of adversity, but also in my consistency regarding prayer and the study of His Word. It has strengthened my faith to continue trusting during moments of uncertainty, knowing that God is faithful and keeps His promises—even if He must correct me along the way.

    I want to thank God for bringing me to BSF. It was in 1991 that I was invited to join BSF. At first, I was reluctant but after the first meeting I discovered that I was enjoying fellowshipping with God and fellow believers through the fourfold approach. I was deployed where there's no BSF class in 1994. But in 2018, rejoin the class which is close to my house. I had proposed to leave BSF in 2022, but God kept me coming. Through the Exile and Return study, God has thought me to trust and depend on Him just as did the heros of Exile and Return. I also learned that I have enemies around, within and from my life exemplified in Nehemiah. I have promised to keep studying the word of God to mature my faith and continue to invite more to study the word of God in BSF. BSF keep the Lord good work. Amen.

    I joined BSF in 1999 and was called into leadership as a GL after 4 years.I have studied Romans many times and so are many other books.However BSF has taught me to read GOD'S word daily and whenever I read it,I find it new and relevant to the situation I'm in.Bsf is a tool that has helped me know who I am and how to apply GOD'S word to my daily life.The detailed notes and live lectures have helped me understand GOD'S word and desire to learn more.I pray GOD enables me to study Romans again.Thank you for the summary of"Exile and Return"study.May GOD bless all the people who plan our lessons and grant them more knowledge and wisdom to continue doing so.Amen.

    I was ready to drop out of BSF after the Exile unit because it left me very discouraged about the ability of God’s chosen people to walk the walk. Even though they went through wave after wave of repentance and restoration, they always seemed to fall back into unbelief and disobedience. I have been a Christian for almost 65 years and still feel like I am caught in the same cycle. “ oh wretched man that I am! Who can save me from this body of death? “ Ro 7:25. Is a sustainable transformation really possible? This blog gives me a glimmer of hope. “Lord I want to believe,! Help my unbelief!”

    Roman’s will carry us on a very spiritual journey. Be prepared to be transformed. I encourage everyone to make it more personal by reading the scriptures in first person. Example: ‘in view of God’s mercy, to offer my body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is my true and proper worship’ (Romans 12:1). The study guides are usually available mid-summer. Notification will be sent when they are. In Christ

    I joined BSF in 2012 for the study of Genesis. This year for Exile & Return God called me to be a Group Leader. This year was such a blessing, I am anxiously waiting for Romans to begin. BSF is such an in-depth Bible Study that feeds you the Word which causes you to want more . Over the years, I have learned and grown so much closer in my walk with my Savior. I hunger and thirst for His Word and I pray that others will come for the Romans study hungry and thirsty and be filled with God's Grace.

    I am overwhelmed with the wisdom and learning. This is my very first BSF and it is one big journey of ups and downs. Of tears and joy, of confusion and clarity, of faith and fear (doubt). Of each book the sovereignty of God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit and their working through people and the mercy and compassion yet the holiness and justice. So much more… I hope to do it again if it is offered again. But it’s taking the high lights of what I had gotten the revealed ones and to put into practice or to apply with Gods help. I am excited for the next study of the book of Romans. Thank you for all who made these lessons possible with Gods wisdom and His hands in yours.     I’ve been a participant in BSF since 2012. I’ve learned & have been blessed so much over the years. His word is so rich. When reading a section of scripture, I just want to continue reading - can’t put the Bible down! I have growing immensely concerning my knowledge of His word and my love for my Lord Jesus Christ. I, also love the teaching format of BSF and excited about the study of Romans this fall.

    This was my first year studying with BSF and the Lord has brought so much light and clarity through these books of the Old Testament books. Exile and Return challenged me to really study books I had never previously delved into. This study really brought to life how God’s always working in the hearts and minds of his people, and how he sovereignly accomplishes his plans without fail. I’m really looking forward to the next study in Romans: From Guilt to Grace. Thank you BSF!

    Reading God's Word is profitable, but the study of His Word enlightens the eyes of our heart and mind. 2Timothy 2:15 "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" KJV May God help us as we grow in His love and grace, which comes from the study of His Word.     It's such a tremendous job God is doing among His people! I joined BSF in 2011 in the middle of the study of Isaiah. Since then God has used BSF in an amazingly way to speak to me. We do not have the prophets now but we have His Word and He still uses different people for us to understand His Word and come to Him. May you (BSF) remain faithful to the end just like the faithful ones in His Word. God chooses ways to use His people, and these ways can vary according to His Will. He is using BSF to touch millions

    From Head to Heart! What a powerful article. I joined BSF in 2017 during the Romans study. I approached the study intellectually. The last nine years in BSF has challenged me to apply my head knowledge to my heart; to apply God’s revelation to my life; to cease striving and simply abide in Christ.     I really Loved the exile and return, I came to join BSF late in this series, they were in the book of Daniel. I enjoyed the study of the old testament books, I got so much out of the books from Daniel to Malachi. I never really sat down and read these books, there is so much to learn, I never knew how those books points to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I also thought they help in our personal lives today, giving us examples of how sin can influence our lives and examples how to take our troubles to God First before making decisions. I can’t wait until we start the book of Romans
